There is no doubt that utility companies face major challenges in developing and implementing robust and dynamic strategies. Those that emerge victorious from the these challenges, however, will be rewarded with a dominant presence in the global marketplace.
The Energy sector of the Group works closely with utility companies in trying to understand their needs at meeting emission norms and seeking alternative fuel sources with which to power the generation plants.
Contec Global is working closely with key investors in this sector, and joint ventures initiated in this area are finally bearing fruit, bearing forth the reality of having gas based power plants which provide electricity for entire populations.

| WASTE TO POWER |
Communities throughout the world are looking for environmentally sound solutions -
to manage their solid waste without relying on landfills;
to ensure that sewage and wastewater do not contaminate their environment;
to increase the use of renewable energy;
to decrease the generation of greenhouse gases; and,
to promote sustainable development and an enhanced quality of life.
The Contec Global Group’s Energy vertical is working, in close alliance with leading players in this arena, to develop and implement cost-effective, independent projects that tackle these core issues. In keeping with its laterally integrated interests, the Group’s main area of focus is the “Waste to Power” model.
With a goal of "Zero Disposal", these projects aim to offer the consumer seamlessly integrated solutions that maximize recovery of resources and recyclable material in the form of steam, electricity, metals and construction aggregate.

In addition to resource recovery facilities (also known as waste-to-energy facilities), the company has also operated related infrastructure and has extensive experience with waste collection and transportation, transfer stations, recycling, and wastewater treatment. New projects are targeted for brownfield sites where our proprietary technologies and engineered solutions can have a positive impact on the environment and economy of a region.

The management team within the group is led by professionals from various fields, each with its own key strengths to offer complete solutions to some of today’s most challenging problems: |
|
Solid Waste Management - Utilizing modern resource recovery technology substantially reduces the amount (90% weight reduction), toxicity and volume (95% volume reduction) of the waste going to landfills. Additional benefits include the recovery of recyclable metals and production of ash, which can be used in construction materials for road bases and concrete blocks.
Sludge Management - Sludge from wastewater treatment facilities, paper mills and other industrial processes, as well as fats, oils and grease (FOG), can often be co-combusted with MSW in a resource recovery facility. Co-combustion provides a sanitary and safe alternative to traditional disposal with the added benefit of reducing NOx in the boilers.
Waste to Power – Utilizing the municipal solid waste collected and converting the same through a combination of patented technologies into electricity.
